VO2 Max Testing

$299 / 25 min interpretation consult

VO2 max is the single strongest predictor of all-cause mortality. Know yours — and know exactly how to improve it.

The Science

What This Test Measures

VO2 max measures the maximum amount of oxygen your body can utilize during intense exercise. It's the gold standard metric for cardiorespiratory fitness — and a landmark JAMA study showed it's more predictive of longevity than almost any other biomarker, including smoking status and diabetes.

A full metabolic exercise test also reveals your ventilatory thresholds (VT1 and VT2), which define the boundaries between your training zones. VT1 is where you shift from primarily fat burning to carbohydrate burning. VT2 is your lactate threshold — the point where fatigue accumulates faster than your body can clear it.

These thresholds are the foundation of precision training. Most people train too hard on easy days and too easy on hard days. Knowing your exact thresholds lets you train with surgical precision — whether your goal is racing, longevity, or simply performing better in daily life.

The Process

How It Works

01

Get your VO2 max test

Complete a VO2 max test at a local exercise physiology lab or performance center.

02

Collect your report

You'll receive data on peak VO2, anaerobic threshold, ventilatory thresholds, and fat oxidation.

03

Book your consult

Schedule your 25-minute interpretation session with Dr. Lin.

04

Build your training plan

Deep dive into your results — heart rate zones, threshold training targets, and metabolic efficiency.
