What This Test Measures
GlycanAge analyzes the glycan patterns attached to your IgG antibodies. Population studies have found associations between these patterns, chronological age, and inflammatory conditions, but association does not establish a validated clinical decision tool for an individual.
The assay differs from epigenetic clocks because it measures IgG glycan features rather than DNA methylation. Hormonal state, illness, medications, and other biological variation may affect the estimate and complicate comparisons over time.
Research on IgG glycans may help describe relationships among aging, immunity, and inflammation. It does not show that changing this score improves health or identify a specific intervention.
