Continuous Glucose Monitor

Continuous glucose data can expose patterns that spot checks miss. The useful part is not the graph; it is whether the pattern changes a decision about food, exercise, sleep, medication, or nothing.

The Science

What This Test Measures

A continuous glucose monitor (CGM) reads your interstitial glucose every 1–5 minutes, 24 hours a day. Over two weeks, that gives you thousands of data points — a resolution that a fasting glucose or even an HbA1c can never match.

With a CGM, you can look for glucose patterns after meals, exercise, sleep, or stress. Interpretation is more credible when a pattern repeats under comparable conditions and is considered with symptoms and other clinical data.

This is most useful when standard labs look "normal" but the story does not: energy crashes, insulin resistance, prediabetes, late meals, alcohol, hard training, or sleep that is not as harmless as it feels.
