Coronary Artery Calcium Score

$299 / 25 min interpretation consult

The single best test for quick cardiac risk stratification. A 10-minute scan that can change how you think about your heart health for the next 20 years.

The Science

What This Test Measures

A coronary artery calcium (CAC) score measures the amount of calcified plaque in your coronary arteries using a low-dose CT scan. The result is an Agatston score: 0 means no detectable calcium, while higher numbers indicate increasing plaque burden.

The CAC score is one of the strongest independent predictors of cardiovascular events — often outperforming traditional risk factors like cholesterol and blood pressure alone. A score of 0 in a low-risk individual is powerfully reassuring. A score above 100 in a 45-year-old demands attention, even if everything else looks "normal."

The catch? Most people get a number and don't know what to do with it. A score of 50 — is that bad? Should you start a statin? Change your exercise routine? That's where physician interpretation makes the difference.
