Oral health is one of the most overlooked parts of whole-body prevention. In this episode, I sit down with Dr. Jonathan Levine to talk about the oral microbiome, periodontal inflammation, airway and sleep, fluoride, oral cancer screening, and emerging diagnostics in dentistry.
A key theme: the mouth can offer important clues about inflammation, infection risk, sleep/airway issues, and metabolic health — but oral-systemic links should be understood as associations, risk markers, and plausible mechanisms, not simple one-cause/one-disease claims. This conversation is educational and is not a substitute for dental or medical care.
